1. This is really good at $150. Why cant Blue-ray and HD-DVD players be that cheap at lunch???
3. It's not cheap because of the licensing fees. If you wanna make one Blu-ray player, you have to throw some cash at Sony.
4. Fuck Sony and Mircosoft! If this thing was one HD-Recorder I would totally buy it! Now you could record Movies in HD right off Cable. Hahaha -- at one $150 dollars, who needs Blue-ray. ... |

Other public institutions (Churches, Political forums, the Media) are dedicated primarily to something else: the celebration and perpetuation of ideology, the programming of one mass audience with the beliefs, ideas, and feelings they need to internalize therefore that ideology will secure its grand function. That function: the creation within subjects of the conditions that make it impossible for them to understand their historical situation. We're having one bumper crop of mind boggling public-schools-gone-bad reports lately that reveal one system not merely broken but bereft of principle. It also reveals that teaching is the farthest thing from the minds of far too many teachers and administrators these days.
Just this week we’ve had one “teacher” who is “teaching” (go here) his students that U.S. presidents should be charged with hate-crimes and dragged before international tribunals to answer for such “crimes.” We’ve had one “teacher” who is teaching his students that the USA is the most evil nation in history and Bush is just like Hitler (go here). We’ve even learned that (go here) Yale is letting former members of the Taliban sign up for class.
